Lightspeed Venture Partners previously led SolarSquare’s $40 million Series B funding at a post-money valuation near $200 million last year. In this new round, Lightspeed is investing through its growth fund, which has also backed notable Indian startups like CRED-a fintech platform revolutionizing credit card payments-and Dunzo, known for hyperlocal delivery services.

Elevation Capital, another key investor with stakes in multiple Indian technology ventures, is expected to participate as well. While negotiations are advanced and nearing completion, final terms remain subject to adjustment. To date, SolarSquare has raised over $61 million through various equity rounds.

The Expanding Horizon of India’s Renewable Energy Goals

India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity by 2030-with solar power projected to contribute more than half this total. By mid-2025,India had already become the world’s third-largest producer of solar energy after China and the United States.

The nation’s installed solar capacity surged dramatically from approximately 3 GW in 2014 to over 160 GW by early 2026-a more than fiftyfold increase driven largely by government incentives promoting rooftop installations among urban consumers and housing societies alike.

Sustained Revenue Momentum & Ambitious Future Plans

The company recently surpassed an annualized revenue run rate exceeding ₹11 billion (approximately $110 million), primarily driven by home installations combined with society-wide deployments. For the current year alone,SolarSquare plans to augment its residential portfolio by adding another 50 megawatts , targeting a cumulative capacity close to 210 megawatts .
