The existing fleet configuration lacks premium economy but includes over 50 extra-legroom spots plus more than 120 regular economy seats along with first-class recliners that do not fully recline flat. By early 2028, United aims to operate around forty Coastliners.

Upgraded Long-Haul Experience with Airbus A321XLR Aircraft

The airline is also rolling out refreshed interiors on its longer-range Airbus A321XLR jets set to replace aging boeing 757s on international routes such as those serving Spain and Brazil. These aircraft maintain a similar seating layout as Coastliners but slightly reduce extra-legroom availability from 36 down to 34 while preserving all other premium features intact.
