Eric Romo,President and COO of Impulse Space,highlighted that this fresh capital will expedite manufacturing cycles and rigorous testing protocols amid fierce competition for aerospace engineering talent nationwide. Although AI-assisted programming tools are increasingly integrated into their software development processes, Romo pointed out that artificial intelligence still faces significant limitations when applied to intricate hardware engineering challenges.

“When I joined as employee number 13 at SpaceX back in 2003,” Romo reflects, “our engine simulations were so basic that achieving within 20% accuracy was considered a major success.”

This reflection illustrates how simulation technology has evolved but remains insufficient as a standalone tool-hands-on design iterations combined with exhaustive physical testing remain central pillars of Impulse’s engineering approach today.
