Fatal Bus Crash in Kisumu Claims 21 Lives
Near kisumu,a city in southwestern Kenya,a catastrophic bus accident has resulted in the deaths of 21 passengers. The bus was carrying mourners returning from a funeral when it overturned and plunged into a ditch beside the road.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Crash
The vehicle had set off from Kakamega town en route to Kisumu. While approaching a roundabout at high speed, the driver lost control. A traffic officer from Nyanza province described how the bus suddenly swerved, tipped onto its side, and fell into an adjacent roadside ditch.
“The driver lost command of the vehicle as it veered sharply and flipped over,” explained Peter Maina at the scene.

The tragedy claimed 10 women, 10 men, and one young girl aged ten years old. Along with those who died, five people suffered severe injuries. Among them is an eight-month-old baby currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
