Breeze Airways Ventures Into International Travel with Seasonal Flight Routes
Approaching its fifth anniversary, Breeze Airways, a U.S.-based emerging airline, is set to debut international flights in early 2025. Focusing on travelers seeking warm-weather getaways, the carrier plans to extend its reach beyond domestic destinations by launching a variety of seasonal international routes.
Introducing New Seasonal International Connections
The airline’s first international service will commence on January 10 with a weekly Saturday flight from Norfolk, Virginia, to cancun, Mexico. following this launch, Breeze will add another Saturday-onyl route from Charleston, South Carolina to Cancun starting January 17.
Weekend flights will expand further with New Orleans initiating service to Cancun on February 7 and Providence beginning similar weekend trips on February 14.in March, Breeze intends to operate bi-weekly flights-on Thursdays and Saturdays-from Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina to Montego Bay in Jamaica.Additionally, passengers can expect Wednesday and Saturday departures from Raleigh-Durham heading toward Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Tampa residents will gain access to new service between Tampa and Montego Bay starting February 11.
A Distinctive Strategy Targeting Underserved Markets
Breeze Airways was established by David neeleman-the visionary behind JetBlue-and launched operations during the pandemic in May 2021. The airline has distinguished itself by concentrating on underserved city pairs where competition is limited or absent altogether.
The fleet mainly comprises Airbus A220-300 aircraft designed for fuel efficiency and optimal performance on these less trafficked routes. This strategy enables Breeze Airways to maintain affordable pricing while delivering quality customer experiences.
Securing Crucial Regulatory Approvals for Expansion
After years of collaboration with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA),Breeze successfully obtained certification required for operating international passenger services-a important milestone marking it as the first major U.S. passenger airline since Virgin America (acquired by Alaska Airlines in 2016) to receive such authorization.
Rising Passenger Interest Highlights Market Potential
Ticket prices for these new international journeys start at an accessible $99 one way; however, there is strong demand among travelers upgrading to premium-class seating that offers enhanced legroom and comfort. Recent booking trends reveal that over ten percent of returning customers choose these upgraded options when flying with Breeze again.
“We are excited about how our customers will embrace these new offerings,” stated Lukas Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer at Breeze Airways.
“This expansion aligns perfectly with our vision of connecting overlooked markets.”
