Based in Los Angeles, Serve Robotics has purchased Diligent Robotics, the creator of Moxi-robots designed to assist hospitals by transporting medical supplies, lab samples, and performing vital operational tasks. This deal values Diligent’s common stock at $29 million.

Established in 2017 by Andrea Thomaz and Vivian Chu, Diligent robotics has raised over $75 million through venture capital funding. Their moast recent round secured $25 million in 2023 to expand deployment of their socially clever service robots across healthcare facilities nationwide.

Diligent will continue operating independently within the larger framework of Serve but will benefit from shared software infrastructure and technical resources designed to boost scalability. This collaborative model aims to accelerate innovation without disrupting existing workflows on either side.
No Departure from Core Focus on Sidewalk Robots
Kashani stresses that this acquisition does not indicate a strategic shift or aggressive expansion spree but reflects openness toward partnerships complementing their expertise. The company remains dedicated primarily to growing its sidewalk robot fleet-which surged from approximately 100 units at the start of 2025 to more than 2,000 units today.
