The second home match will take place on May 30 at 1pm when Scotland face Curacao. This caribbean nation has made history as one of the smallest countries ever to qualify for a FIFA World Cup. Managed by former Rangers boss Dick Advocaat, Curacao offers an intriguing test before scotland heads to North America.

“Hosting curacao gives us valuable exposure to CONCACAF football ahead of our opening match versus Haiti,” he added. “It will be fantastic reuniting with the squad after that unforgettable night which ended our long wait for World Cup qualification.”

“After reflecting on that historic achievement, we’ll quickly refocus on rigorous preparations ahead of this summer,” Clarke concluded.

A Look Back and New Encounters Ahead

This upcoming friendly will be Japan’s first visit to Barclays Hampden Park; though, both nations have met three times previously-resulting in two scoreless draws and one victory favoring Japan. One such stalemate helped secure Scotland’s Kirin Cup success hosted by Japan back in 2006.
