This upcoming friendly will be Japan’s first visit to Barclays Hampden Park; though, both nations have met three times previously-resulting in two scoreless draws and one victory favoring Japan. One such stalemate helped secure Scotland’s Kirin Cup success hosted by Japan back in 2006.

The match against Curacao represents an entirely new rivalry on Scottish soil between these teams.
