  • O Organics Cage Free Large brown available in 6-, 12-, and 18-count packs with UPCs: 079893401522, 079893401508, and 079893401546 respectively
  • Marketside Organic Large Cage Free Brown in both 12- and18-count sizes with UPCs:681131122771 and681131122801 respectively
  • Sunnyside Organic Cage Free Large Brown varieties offered as both12- and18-pack sizes with corresponding UPCs such as717544201441and717544211761
  • Loose flats containing small to jumbo brown cage-free or organic eggs without specific UPC codes.

Check for plant code numbers P-6562 or CA5330 printed on the packaging along with julian Dates ranging from day32 through126.

The same recalled items were also distributed at Walmart locations across California, Washington,Nevada ,Arizona ,Wyoming ,New Mexico,Nebraska⁢ ,Indiana,and Illinois during February3to May6with sell-by dates spanning March4to June19.

The Salmonella Outbreak Behind This Major Recall Effort

This large-scale recall was triggered by a salmonella outbreak traced directly back to these specific egg batches. Salmonella bacteria can contaminate eggs during production or handling phases; consuming contaminated eggs may lead to salmonellosis-a gastrointestinal infection marked by symptoms such as diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever,and abdominal cramps that typically develop within six hours up to six days after exposure.

The Centers for Disease Control reports that California accounts for the majority of cases-63 out of79-with Washingtonand Nevada each reporting four cases.Arizona recorded three infections while Nebraskaand New Jersey had two each.Kentucky reported one case so far.The initial illnesses emerged around late february this year.
