The company provides these robotic treatments as a service during nighttime hours rather than selling the machines outright. From Robotics Innovation to Agricultural Transformation

The founder initially developed 3D-printed robots intended for tactical law enforcement after earning his PhD in robotics in 2017.However, by 2020 he pivoted toward agriculture upon recognizing it’s vast potential for positive societal impact.

“I wanted my work to create meaningful change benefiting many people,” he shared. “Agriculture emerged as a field where innovation could influence nearly everyone.”

Partnering with Government Initiatives for Practical Deployment

To transition advanced technology from research labs into real-world applications, he engaged with a USDA program designed to connect scientists and entrepreneurs. Through this collaboration, promising UV light technologies were identified that became central components of their robotic solutions.

Pioneering Field Tests and Scaling Up Operations Nationwide

The first prototypes were built in a garage before being transported cross-country atop an SUV for testing on small plots provided by cooperative farmers starting in 2021. These early trials involved comprehensive data gathering while living modestly across multiple states during deployment phases.

Currently, the company partners with four leading strawberry producers nationwide and operates nine autonomous units-with three more under construction-to broaden their reach significantly.

Securing Capital to Expand Fleet and crop Applications

A recent $5.5 million seed investment led by Version One Ventures will accelerate growth by increasing their fleet of autonomous machines and exploring uses beyond strawberries into other high-value crops susceptible to pests and diseases such as blueberries and raspberries.
